Welcome To The Dog House

I’m Angela Watson, an Executive Coach and Consultant who has been training, mentoring, and supervising coaches for 15 years.

I’ve spent over 10 of those years training Golden Retrievers to competition level, using positive reinforcement training, alongside my consultancy work.

When I was a child I used to read Enid Blyton books and dream of living in a cottage full of character and charm, with honeysuckle growing over the door. That dream came true when I moved into my wonky cottage, with it’s wonky walls, and wonky beams. Soon after, I met Mark, and we got our first dog, a beautiful Golden Retriever pup, called called Lucy. I was besotted. Two years later we got another Golden Retriever called Harry, who introduced me to Competitive Dog Obedience. Lucy and Harry’s successors are Jasper and Berty.

We (or I really mean the dogs) have consistently won awards at Kennel Club Competitive Obedience shows for over a decade, and in 2016 Harry competed at Crufts.

The blog is a place to document my current Obedience journey, whilst celebrating all the wonderful things about dog friendly living, as well as helping to show you how to enjoy mellow living with your own dogs.

I’m not going to be offering dog training tips or advice, in fact this is less about training dogs than you might expect. But who knows, maybe it will inspire you to take up showing dogs yourself one day, and if you’re already obsessed, it might help you have more fun and success competing.

Love, Angela and the Wygulmuts xx
